The newest Passive House in Rhode Island reveals its secrets…

Architect Drawing

We’re halfway through the project, so we decided to have an Open House.

Rhode Island has only a few buildings recognized for their ultra-low energy profile by the Passive House Institute US. Two of these Passive Houses are right here in South Kingstown.

The first was the Mechanic Street Passive House in Wakefield, designed in 2014 and completed in 2015. The second is the Saugatucket Pond Passive House in nearby Peace Dale, currently under construction. The same architect and builder teamed up for both projects. To read about the Sautucket Pond house and view the latest construction photos, visit our project page.

On Thursday, October 27, 2016, about 50 people attended the Open House and learned about recent developments in building science. If you weren’t able to attend, you have a second opportunity – a guided tour organized by NESEA is planned for Friday afternoon, December 2. Click here to sign up.
